quality steel evacuated 06-30-08

A LOCAL BUSINESS WAS EVACUATED TODAY IN BOLIVAR COUNTY. A FIRE DEPARTMENT SPOKESMAN SAYS FIREFIGHTERS GOT A CALL FROM QUALITY STEEL CORPORATION RIGHT OFF OF HIGHWAY 61 IN CLEVELAND AT 1:22 THIS AFTERNOON. WHEN FIREMEN GOT THERE, THEY HEADED STRAIGHT TO THE PURCHASING DEPARTMENT, WHERE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM A LIGHT FIXTURE.  CAPTAIN REED ABRAHAM SAYS QUALITY STEEL DID EXACTLY THE RIGHT THING, BY CALLING HIS DEPARTMENT AT THE FIRST SIGN OF TROUBLE. CAPT. REED ABRAHAM OF THE CLEVELAND FIRE Department SAYS, "quality steel did an excellent job of evacuating the second the alarm went off. Sometimes what we notice with some of these commercial buildings is that fire alarms might typically malfunction maybe multiple times within a month. Sometimes they ignore these fire alarms which is a very dangerous thing." AUTHORITIES SAY NO ONE AT QUALITY STEEL WAS HARMED.
