Jenese Harris joined the WABG team October 2007. She is excited
about being in the delta because of its rich culture, food and
warm-hearted community. Inspired by anchors and reporters in her
hometown at the age of nine she knew that she would work for a
news station one day.
This Detroit Native has been pursuing broadcast journalism since
the age of sixteen. She believes in dealing with the good with
the bad gracefully, reporting about excited gift
givers Christmas Eve and heartbreaking stories like Latasha
Norman murdered by her ex-boyfriend. Before going to college she
had already interned with two Detroit radio stations and the
Detroit Free Press.
Prior to coming to the Delta she worked in entertainment news
for WMOR and was a contributing writer/reporter for news
stations in Tampa. She believes that faith plus dedication and
determination equals success. Years of experience have molded
her into WABG's main anchor.
Aside from news she loves genealogy and sports especially
basketball and football. She is dedicated to the community and
assisting local organizations.
She hopes the Detroit Lions make it to the Super Bowl soon but
would be happy to see the Colts get a championship ring again.
She graduated for the University of South Florida with a
Bachelors in Communications. When she's not working she enjoys
spending time with her family in the Delta.
