
David Lush, commentator with
WABG Channel 6, is the newest addition to the station's news team. With an
emphasis on feature stories and community highlights, Lush hosts "Talk of
the Town" live segments each week during the Good Morning Mississippi
morning show; "What's That You Say?" segments each Friday during the 6 and
10 p.m. news casts; and a weekend, half-hour entertainment show called
"Delta Times with David Lush."
Lush also hosts the half-hour "Open Mic" radio program each Sunday for
the River Group Broadcasting Company over WNIX, WIQQ and WBAQ. He has been
in Greenville three years where he most recently worked as managing editor
of the Delta Democrat Times. Prior to that, he was the chief staff writer
for the Delta Business Journal in Cleveland, Miss.
Lush has also served as staff writer and business page editor for The
Daily Telegram in Superior, Wis.; staff writer and business page editor for
The Bolivar Commercial in Cleveland, Miss.; and reporter for The Clarksdale
Press-Register in Clarksdale, Miss.
Lush has also written for The Clarion Ledger in Jackson, Miss.; The
Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Tenn.; through the Florida Parishes Bureau for
The Advocate in Baton Rouge, La. and The Hammond Daily Star in Hammond, La.
Since starting in the journalism field over 15 years ago, Lush has won
six Associated Press writing awards, five Mississippi/Louisiana Managing
Editors writing awards and one Wisconsin Press Association writing award.
