The Mississippi Department of Transportation has announced a 1.1 million
dollar grant for a new access route to the Delta State University Athletic
facilities.

According to Congressman Bennie Thompson, the grant will fund thr project
which includes constructing a new boulevard to provide access directly to
the facilities from from Highway 8. The current route requires motorists to
go down residential roads. A trail will also be constructed as part of the
project.
