*Court Upholds Conviction*
The state Court of Appeals is upholding the conviction of a former
Greenville police officer sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexual battery
of a 14-year-old girl who became pregnant.

Benjamin Rowberson was convicted in 2009 in Washington County. Prosecutors
say Rowberson was arrested in 2007 after responding to a call from the
child's mother that her daughter had run away.

They say Roberson assisted in locating the girl and the sexual act occurred
while Roberson was transporting the teenager back home. Roberson contended
on appeal that he was coerced into confessing to the crime, but the Appeals
Court says there was nothing in the trial record to support that claim.
